Specific genes or environmental factors can affect how fast your body ages. In particular, inflammation, stress, and sleep play critical roles in the aging process.
Dull, lifeless, tight and itchy after cleansing skin is frequently one of the signs of dehydration.
Skin hydration depends on different factors, including diet, weather condition, air quality, habits, hormonal imbalance etc. Skin will lose its moisture faster in a dry closed environment during your car or air travel, and due to exposure to environmental pollutants, such as ultraviolet radiation, cigarette smoke, and many other compounds present in the environment.
The main skin problem during winter is dehydration.

Our choice of fresh homemade masks recipes is based on the basic chemistry and biology knowledge. Our skin serves as a barrier and protection from invasion of different microorganisms. Surface of the skin is also a home residence for multiple bacteria which are beneficial to us. Good bacteria - our skin resident flora - thrive on the surface of our skin and serve as an extra protection barrier. That is why it is very important to keep this population healthy. One of the most important factor – keep the natural acidity (PH level) of the skin. Below you can see diagrams showing PH scale.
Our skin is naturally acidic. Excreted from the skin's sebaceous glands oily or waxy matter, called sebum, lubricates and waterproof the skin , mixes with secretions of the sweat glands to create the skin's pH.
According to Sara Lee Household and Body Care Research, The Netherlands, “ natural skin surface pH is on average below 5, which is beneficial for its resident flora”.
That is why we have to be very careful choosing skin care product in order to keep healthy skin PH balance.
Tip from FACEXER:
After application of face mask and exercises with FACEXER you have to rinse your skin with lukewarm water, and immediately to seal moisture in your skin by using any skin protectant (coconut oil, petrolatum etc.), creating a protective barrier . It is also very important to remove excess protectant from the skin gently using absorbent tissue. Skin protectant (like Vaseline) forms a barrier between skin and outside world. It locks in the moisture, that's why your skin looks less wrinkled, but it also locks in dirt and infection if the skin is not thoroughly cleaned before applying. Use good quality skin protectant which is highly refined. Some people prefer natural organic mixture of coconut oil, Shea-butter and bee's wax. You can use other oils instead of coconut for specific purposes, and it can even smell nice with some essential oils.
